German Film Festival 2017 | Paradise

Description
Paradise is a tale of three individuals and their fateful decisions forced by a totality of conviction: Olga (Julia Vysotskaya), a beautiful aristocratic Russian émigré and member of the French resistance; Jules (Philippe Duquesne), a corrupt French police collaborator; and Helmut (Christian Clauss), a naive but high-ranking German SS officer. As these characters recount their experiences, the viewer is transported back to the final days of World War II to discover how their destinies cross paths.

At the 73rd Venice International Film Festival in 2016, the film’s director Andrei Konchalovsky won the Silver Lion for Best Director. The film also made the shortlist in the Foreign Language Film category at the 2017 Academy Awards.

Please note that the film screening is from 17:00 to 19:10 SGT.
